best places to visit in niue
Limu Pools
Namukulu is one of the fourteen villages of Niue and is the smallest one on the island. It is located about 5 km from Alofi (Niue’s Capital) and lies between the villages of Tuapa and Hikutavake. The village is home to one of the most popular tourist destinations in all of Niue: the Limu Pools.
The bright blue waters at the pools are sheltered by a rocky coast capturing the real essence of what Niue’s nature is all about. The pools include the main and side pools where visitors can enjoy the large sheltered swimming areas.
Matapa Chasm
Matapa Chasm is a gorge in Niue, located in the northern part of the country, 11 km north of Alofi the country’s capital, and lies at 30 meters above sea level.
Niue is home to a lot of beautiful chasms, but arguably the most famous one is the Matapa Chasm. The beauty of the Matapa Chasm is that it’s not only easy to get to – just a seven-minute walk down a sea track starting from the Talava Arches, but it can be also swam at any tide, which is rare for swimming spots in Niue.
