best places to visit in Papua New Guinea
Panasia Island
Panasia Island is an island in Papua New Guinea, part of the Calvados Chain within the Louisiade Archipelago.
Interestingly, Utian islanders use this island for gardening yams. The Southern part of the island is more gentle, so there the local population grows gardens, allowing guests to enjoy plenty of Panacea fruits of coconut, banana, and papaya. This secluded and tranquil island, has limestone cliffs reaching into the sky while peering down into the ocean, creating great opportunities for snorkeling, and swimming. Panasia is a perfect fusion of white sand, turquoise waters, and green trees.
Kokoda Track
The Kokoda Track or Trail is a single-file foot trail that runs 96 km (60 of which are a straight line) through the Owen Stanley Range in Papua New Guinea. The track was the location of the 1942 World War II battle between the Japanese and the Allied forces.
This is one of the adventurous and challenging experiences that Papua New Guinea has to offer. It takes about 4 to 10 days to complete the track, depending on the content of your tour. Tours usually break the path into segments to enjoy the beauty of nature and there are also many villages along the way where you can stop and have a rest.
