best places to visit in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
Bequia
Bequia is the second-largest island in the Grenadines, part of the country of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
This charming island is a popular yachting destination with a rich whaling history, and lush hillsides dotted with bougainvillea tumbling down towards the beaches and boat-filled bays. A popular place to visit on Bequia is Port Elizabeth on Admiralty Bay, the island’s main commercial center. A walkway runs along the waterfront on the south side of town, lined with restaurants and quaint little shops. In addition, if you want to find out more about the island’s history, you will likely find the Bequia Maritime Museum interesting.
Palm Island
Palm Island in the Grenadines is a small island one mile from Union Island, only accessible by boat. It has an area of 0.55 km2 and is comprised of five beaches.
Palm Island is a little patch of paradise. Home to the Palm Island Resort & Spa, one of the best Saint Vincent and the Grenadines beach resorts, as well as a sprinkling of holiday villas, the island is named for the abundant coconut palms planted by the resort’s former owners. The five beaches on the island offer excellent swimming and snorkeling opportunities, as well as paddle boarding, kayaking, and sailing.
