Old Havana

Old Havana is the city center and one of the 15 municipalities forming Havana, Cuba. In 1982, Old Havana was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, because of its unique Baroque and neoclassical architecture, its fortifications, and its historical importance.

If you walk around the cobbled streets and gaze up at the buildings, it’s easy to imagine what life in Cuba was like 200 years ago. Extensive renovations are now breathing new life into the historic feel of the area. Major attractions here include the Plaza de la Catedral, home to the Cuban Baroque Catedral de San Cristobal; the legendary restaurant and Hemingway hangout, Bodeguita del Medio; and the military fortress, Castillo de la Real Fuerza.

Varadero

Varadero also referred to as Playa Azul (Blue Beach), is a resort town in the province of Matanzas, Cuba. Also, Varadero Beach stretches along the Peninsula de Hicacos and was rated one of the world’s best beaches in TripAdvisor’s Traveler’s Choice Awards of 2019. More than 50 hotels line this popular palm-fringed strip, whereas the area includes sites such as the Parque Ecológico Varahicacos (Varadero Ecological Park), and its two caves, Cueva de Ambrosio and Cueva de Musulmanes. Other popular things to do besides diving and snorkeling, are deep-sea fishing, golf, skydiving, and day trips to cultural attractions.

There are 23 countries in North America (see list of the ten biggest countries on the right) and 9 dependencies with a total of more than 590 million people living on the continent. Largest Country: Canada. The country is covering almost half the North American continent’s land area. Canada is slightly bigger than the USA and about as big as China.

OCEANIA

Oceania is in a continental group consisting of 14 countries and includes Pacific islands and Australia. Often Australia is named as a continent, but this means that the many islands and countries except Australia would then be not included. Oceania in fact is mostly ocean and spans a vast area as you can see below.
