Kingston
Kingston is the administrative center of the Australian external territory of Norfolk Island. The settlement is the second oldest in Australia, founded a little over a month after Sydney.
Kingston is part of the World Heritage Site of Kingston and Arthur’s Vale Historic Area designated for its historical significance. There are also four museum buildings within the World Heritage Site, collectively called the Norfolk Island Museum. Other than these museums, there are lots of other historic buildings that you can see independently and for free. Along Quality Row, there are the Georgian houses built between 1832 and 1847 for officers, and some of them are still private residences.
Norfolk Island National Park
Norfolk Island National Park is a protected area of 6.50 km2 in the South Pacific Ocean, about 1,471 km off the East coast of Australia. Also, Norfolk Island National Park, established in 1984 is one of many national parks in Oceania and serves as a nature sanctuary for several severely endangered species, as well as a vacation spot for outdoor enthusiasts.
The park encompasses Norfolk Island’s most breathtaking landscapes, including its tallest peaks, expansive forests, rugged coastline, as well as the Botanical Gardens and Phillip Island. You can experience the park on foot, through the extensive network of walking trails.
